In a nutshell — refurbished 100 m2 apartment on 2nd floor at Grønttorvet in Valby, waiting for one more lovely folk to join me (30-year-old newly graduated), Milan (my 5-year-old son living here 50 % of the time) and Rasmus (29-year-old student from Fyn) in our home from 10th March (slight adjustments possible), for 6 months plus minus, depending on your needs.
The flat — The place is newly furnished and comes with all appliances like washing machine and dry tumbler in the bathroom and a fully functional kitchen incl dishwasher. There’s a balcony facing Grønttorvet square, and we have access to the courtyard as well as a roof terrace in the neighbouring building. Secure bike storage in the cellar, access from the street.
The room — The room to be rented out is 8 m2, marked red on the blueprint picture. It comes with an integrated wardrobe, a bed with mattress (140 x 200), lighting, curtains, and a bedside table (see pictures).
The moneys — 6000 DKK per month, all included. 1-month rent deposit and 1-month prepaid rent for the last month. Rental period is for 6 months. We’ll make a contract that covers all the relevant stuff, to prevent any wishy washyness.
The area — Quite new, but quite lovely. Parks, cafes, supermarkets all close by. Lots of hangouts and events on the square, and we’re literally neighbours with the local hygge cafe (though with not so hygge prices). Close to s-train and metro København Syd and two bus lines. 10-15 minutes (depending on how much you pedal to the metal) to vesterbro by bike. Similarly 10-15 minutes to valby Strand.
About you
- open for having a kid around every other week
- mature and pragmatic enough for common rules and cleaning plan not to be a headache
- willing to communicate openly about preferences, boundaries and irritations, with an intention to find compromise and listen to each other
- big plus if you’re vegetarian/vegan (this is not a must, but especially cooking meat/fish would pose a challenge due to smell)
- keen on creating a feeling of homeliness
- an openness to get to know each other, so that the occasional shared evening is not something to be avoided
- No superficial whatever messages teeming with platitudes
About me
- German trying not to seem so German, usually being found guilty as charged at one point or the other (Ordnung! Sauberkeit! Schmetterling!) ((just kidding))
- Recently completed his master's in Refugee Studies, currently intensively searching for jobs
- Fan of good books, quirky podcasts, semi-elaborate board games and D&D
- Passionate about two things in the kitchen: my tried and tested banana bread and my black tea in the morning
- Dedicated yoga amateur
- Loving a long, philosophical conversation and getting all insightful on life, but there’s a well-preserved sillyhead and stage-ready dance performer hidden underneath
About Milan
- cheeky, goofy, curious as they come, and of course exceptionally wonderful cause come on, I'm his dad, and that's what dads say about their little rascals
- of course it can get rowdy and the occasional going-to-bed meltdown has been witnessed. But so far, all my roomies have liked him (or pretended really well haha)
- obsessed with Pokemon cards, Ninjago, playing soccer, and most recently, our first ever joint PS4 adevnture
- Undefeated champion in "gæt et dyr" (guess an animal)
- Speaks an adorable mix of German and Danish
About Rasmus
- 29, active and openminded dane, who likes to explore the boundaries of comfort.
- Studies Design & Technology with specialty in Fashion Management, while working evenings and weekends in a supermarket.
- Loves music (all kinds, but currently is into a lot of folk, alt-rock, and classic pop/rock of the 60s and 70s), running, and bouldering.
- His english is somehow better than his danish, and he understands enough german to read a children’s book.
If this sounds interesting, then shoot me a message here or on phone - a bit about yourself, a bit about your expectations, and of course any and all questions. To make sure you’ve read to the end, please start your message with BANANA.
I’ll get back within a few days if we're interested, so don't despair from day 1 if you haven't heard back. It's nice to get an overview and have an exchange between us about who we would like to meet. Maybe you? Excited to find out!
